A look at my 2020 goals

Business

It’s 2020! A whole new decade just started and possibilites are endless. My new years was spent at home, watching the ball drop on TV and I loved it. Now the year has already began and it’s already been pretty damn crazy. While taking a break from work, I started to look at what goals I wanted to achieve in my business that I would feel really proud of accomplishing at the end of the year. Since it’s a new decade, I wanted to think about goals differently and not solely focus on the financial goals. With that, I wanted to share my 2020 goals with you!

1 | Blend my loves of food + design

At the end of 2019, I redesigned Dragonfly Ave and made it a point to share that it was a place ‘where a love of food + design collide.” Truly, these are my two passions (including the business side of things) and I wanted to be able to talk and share about them both equally while still delivering clarity to people visiting here. Since, my web design services are a big part of keeping my dreams alive, the emphasis has been put more on the design aspect. This coming year, I want to do a much better job of blending the two and equally sharing about BOTH food + design. It’ll be tricky at first but I’m excited to see how it comes out.

2 | Create community

Entrepreneurship gets lonely as f*ck. The idea of being friends with potential competitors is crazy and sharing work others make seems unoriginal. But that is all so last decade. This year I wanted to focus more on creating a community. One that includes both food + design lovers, one that includes ‘competitors’, one that eliminates a scarcity mindset + embraces (and showcases) other peoples awesomeness. Embracing and creating community is one of my top goals of 2020 and it’s already happening!

3 | hustle less, live more

I’m all down for the hustle, until hustle gets in the way of making a life. In the past, I had no problem working all day, everyday, working weekends or having a life. Quite honestly, I’m still totally fine with it. However, I do want to get in a better position and mindset of knowing that life isn’t ALL about work. It’s about doing work you love and then still enjoying life. So this year, my goal is to stop working all the time and live a bit more.

3 | Give less f*cks

I’ll be honest, I already don’t give very many as it is. BUT, there are still times where the potential of other peoples opinions stop me from doing or sharing something. The great thing is that I’ve been able to catch it more often and be more aware of when that’s the thing stopping me. That doesn’t always mean I overcome it, but this year, I do want to make it a point to say f*ck it/whoever, and do it anyways. Fear and more so, fear of other peoples opinions shouldn’t be what stops you anymore and I don’t want it to be what stops me.

These are my main 2020 goals for both my business and myself. Now, I’d still love to make even larger financial strides and work with even more ideal web design clients, so those are some other goals as well.  I’m excited to see how these goals allow for growth and evolution within my business and how they change me! Now that you know my goals, share yours below! 🙂
