If I’m being honest, I had never caramelized anything before I made this caramelized shrimp + peaches recipe. But I was eager to try something new… jump to having to wait 30min, my impatience started to get the best of me. However, at the end of the day, it was definitely worth the wait. The peaches + shrimp got a bit sweeter and they tasted great in some tacos.
I will say this, if you haven’t tried caramelizing, it’s not as hard as it seems! Also, if you haven’t tried something you’ve been dying to do – just go for it! You can learn on the job (sort of like I did on this recipe, so thanks mom!) + learn a new skill or make a new recipe while you’re at it! Now go try this caramelized shrimp + peaches recipe and let me know what you think!

Ingredients:
10 shrimp
1-2 peach(es)
¼ tablespoon grass-fed butter (or vegan butter)
½ tablespoon olive oil
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch of salt
¼ teaspoon brown sugar
How to make:
Start by placing shrimp in water until unfrozen + cooked. Once cooked, strain water + take tails off, if needed.
Wash + cut the peach(es) into thin vertical slices. Sprinkle brown sugar on top.
Place pan on high heat and add olive oil + butter. (Be a little cautious, because sometimes the oil jumps out of pan). Once you start to see a bowl, lower heat to low. Carefully add peaches + shrimp. Add garlic powder + salt. Cover pan and let sit on low for 20-30 min while checking, flipping + stirring the peaches + shrimp periodically (roughly every 5 min). Shrimp + peaches will start to brown + slightly soften. Once done, place in bowl.
You can either, add shrimp + peaches to salad, make tacos, add over toast, or eat as is!
