A few years ago (I can’t believe it’s been years at this point), I heard abut a new investing company made specifically for woman. At that point, I only knew a little about investing but just like most people, felt overwhelmed and scared to risk my hard earned money. However, an investing company that spoke to + empowered woman kind of got me hooked. Ultimately I decided to start investing with Ellevest and it’s been pretty awesome – and low key, no work whatsoever!

What is ElleVest?
ElleVest is an investment company that automatically invests money from your account each month. What makes it different is that it focuses on empowering women to invest. Which, I think, is pretty damn cool.
Getting Started
It takes about 10min to get started, plus requires $0 minimum. Seriously, I started by investing about $10 to each investment account I wanted. Although it was small, I figured it was a good way to get started, wet my feet + see how it felt. The great thing is, I don’t have to keep track of it, worry about it or check it everyday. I trust it’s doing it’s job to work for me. Now, since I invested a smaller amount, it naturally takes longer to accumulate growth but it’s still growing. Slowly, but surely!
The Magazine
The emails are fire! Although I don’t read them every single week, the email newsletter + magazine/blog on their website is full of awesome tips, tools + resources – and they’re all made for women. The CEO Sallie Krawcheck, gives practical, real world, real money advice, that all women should have access to.
My Experience
So far, I’ve had a great experience with Ellevest. It gave me the opportunity to dip my feet in investing and start out small. The practical advice empowered my to keep learning about investing. Now, I’m looking into other companies like Betterment (while staying with Ellevest) to keep growing and trying things out.
Check it out!
