The Cool Shit List Vol. 1

I am so fucking pumped for the first ever ‘Cool Shit List’ – a brand new series for me to share things I found cool, interesting, badass, gamechaning, etc. throughout the week/month. This will be a mix of music to imagery to shows to photography to fashion to recipes and more. It’s really just a series where I can share things that I find interesting but also showcase incredible work from designers, artists, creators, etc. In addition, I think this series pushes me to expose myself to new things.

Then, obviously, you can’t mess with the Queen, Beyonce’s Black Parade is beautiful and powerful. Can’t Breathe by H.E.R. is a must listen to anthem as well as Sometimes (which is older but still one of my favs).

Cool shit to watch

This week I didn’t actually watch very much tv or film so I’ll include a few things I’ve watched recently.

Disclosure (Netflix) – This is a documentary about Trans people and more specifically how they’ve been portrayed in film & media throughout the years. I’d consider myself an LGBTQ ally but I also know there is so much that I don’t know and this film was incredibly powerful and enlightening. Honestly, everyone should watch and learn! And if you want to continue learning more visit here!

Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu) – This show is beautiful, intense, and amazing. It touches on so many issues and the depiction of race, sexuality and being a woman is beautifully done. It’s such an interesting show that I think helps bring up important conversations and discussions.
